This random answer series will focus on my favorites in art and artists of all kinds—books, authors, musicians, songs, movies, shows, and so on. Because art is all around us, part of us, and a constant in our everyday lives. I’d love to know your favorites, too!

Q: Which author has most influenced your writing?

A: John Green

Q: What’s your favorite YA book?

A: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher.

Q: What’s your favorite “adult” book?

A: Defending Jacob by William Landay.

Q: Favorite band?

A: Nirvana, but I love a lot of nineties grunge bands. Alice in Chains is probably right on par for me, too.

Q: Favorite song of all time?

A: It’s too impossible to choose just one, but a few that come to mind are “Heart Shaped Box” by Nirvana, “Rooster” by Alice in Chains, “Lightning Crashes” by LIVE, “Scar Tissue” by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Q: Favorite show ever?

A: I have a couple in a wide variety of genres, but I guess if I absolutely had to choose, or could only watch one then I would go with Friends.

Q: Favorite TV character?

A: Jesse Pinkman

Q: Favorite movie?

A: I really don’t think I have one. Maybe Good Will Hunting if I had to choose.

Q: Favorite actor and actress?

A: Matt Damon, Leo, and Jennifer Lawrence.

Q: Favorite visual art medium?

A: Surreal graphic design. I also love good photography, especially of nature.

Q: Favorite Harry Potter?

A: The Half-Blood Prince.

Q: Favorite comedian?

A: Probably Pete Lee currently, and I’m waiting for him to get a Netflix special!
