ABOUT Shay

Shay is a young adult author from the east end of Long Island, New York. Her debut YA novel Fractured was released on October 27, 2020, and her book of poetry Bleeding Flowers debuted June, 2019. Shay’s short stories, poems, essays, and articles have been published in numerous literary journals and online publications. She graduated from Tulane University with a BA in English, where she was also a member of the women's tennis team. Shay then went on to earn an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College.

Shay was diagnosed selective mute at age 7, and is an advocate for the anxiety disorder and mental health awareness. She loves reading, exploring nature, the ocean, swimming, fitness, animals, plant-based living, drinking soy lattes, nineties grunge, and her giant-headed rescue pit bull, Bernie.
